Welcome

Headteachers Welcome

Welcome Parents, Carers and Friends of Jenyns!

I would like to wish you a very warm welcome to Jenyns School. Our motto is, “Our children, Our future”. We want the very best for the children in our care and we have a dedicated and committed team who ensure they all receive the very best education, both academically and socially. Every child is valued and respected for their contribution to our school community, which we are very proud of.

We are a small first school, so we are lucky enough to know all of our school community well. Our children are taught in mixed- age classes and are encouraged to support, help and motivate each other to learn and grow.

We are situated in the beautiful village of Braughing. We use the local village and its environments to support our learning. The School itself is steeped in History dating back to 1710. The construction of the original school building began as early at 1860. In 2004, Jenyns was modernised with the new school being built at the top of the school field. This is what you see here now.

Jenyns welcomes children from three and a half in Nursery, all the way through to aged nine in Year four. Our school is part of the Buntingford three tiered system and we pride ourselves on working closely with our neighbouring schools.

We look forward to welcoming you to our school.

Our School

As well as a modern school building with spacious classrooms, we are lucky to have extensive grounds including a large playground, a pond and wildlife area, climbing equipment, a forest, a sensory garden and a vegetable patch (coming soon). We would love to show you around the school that we are all so proud of. Why not call the school to arrange a tour.

In the meantime, please take a look for yourself...

Our school is steeped in History. Why not find out more about Jenyns First School and the village of Braughing.
