Pupil Voice

Pupil Voice…
The children in our school are the most important people! As such, they have lots of opportunities to share their thoughts on school issues – both formally and informally! Mrs Morris’s door is always open for both children and adults!

School Council
The main aim of the School Council is to help to make our school a better place for the children and to give us an opportunity to have our opinions and ideas heard. Each class from Year Reception upwards has two representatives who are elected every term. The School Council president is elected from year 4 for the year.

At the first meeting of the year the important roles and jobs are selected and Mrs Morris helps us to conduct our meetings.

The class representatives tell the children in their classes what has been discussed at each meeting and the children can ask the representatives to take forward their ideas to the next meeting.

Everybody gets a fair say in the meeting and nobody gets left out.

School Playleaders
In our school we have 2 pupils each week who are selected as playleaders. They help the children in school to play together and take responsibility for play equipment. They help recognise when some children are having difficult times in the playground.

Our 'Buddy sign' is where children sit when they would like the play leaders to help them to help them.

School Sports Crew

In our school we have 4 pupils who form our sports crew. They help organise sporting events and write sports reports for our website.

School Librarians

In our school we have 4 pupil librarians. They help run our library, and support younger pupils to choose books.

Energy Champions

Our energy champions work with other members of the energy team to help reduce energy use across the school

Children are also consulted regarding other key issues in school, such school behaviour and safety, homework, school uniform, school meals and improvement priorities
