We are named 'Rousseau' class after the French artist Henri Rousseau. Our class is made up of twenty year 1 children, our two teachers, Mrs Nicholson and Mrs Wealthy, and our teaching assistant Mrs Browne.
We have been working hard at sequencing and retelling the story of 'Oi! Get off our Train', and exploring our new 'Animals of Africa' tuff tray.
What a fantastic enrichment week we have had! We have been focussing on DT and Cooking and had a great introduction to our new topic on 'Animals'. Our activities have included making animal biscuits, habitat cakes and fruit animals.
As part of our topic work we have been learning about how an island can be formed when a volcano erupts under the sea. One of our children showed us how his model volcano can really erupt!
Today we have been learning about how the eyes work with 'Prof' from Labtots!
Today we have been learning about the Jewish Harvest Festival of 'Sukkot'. We have been collecting natural resources to decorate our 'Sukkah' shelter collages.
This week we have been practising our ball skills in P.E.
We have had a fantastic time being pirates in our new role play area!
We have made an exciting start to our new topic on 'Islands' by dressing up as pirates on our WOW day and making our new role play pirate ship!
During art this week we have been painting in the style of our class artist, Henri Rousseau.
